Whether
you're a current member of The Dwarven Rite of Passage who's
looking to reward another of kin for reaching their 30th Circle,
or if you're that just interested in the process of albredine
rings then this is a great guide for you.
I've
compiled a detailed walk-through on how to tune a colorless
albredine ring to an already tuned ring. Also, I've included
a FAQ section because there are some oddities in the system that
can frustrate someone trying to use or tune a ring. |

|

|
If you
are trying to tune a brand new, unused colorless albredine ring
then you' re going to have to "break it in" first.
If this is a used ring, skip to step two. To break in the
ring, simply wear
albredine ring.
This will change the color of the ring to the color that has been
designated to your character the day you rolled him into DR.
There is no way of changing this color, so if you got a stupid
one, tough luck. Keeping the ring tuned to your natural
color is good if you wanted to start a new party-line gweth
circle, but know that it will not work with TDRoP. |
|

|
Now,
Hold the ring you want to tune in your left
hand and any blade in your right.
Then, tap ring.
You will get the message "You tap your albredine ring with a
bastard sword (or what ever blade you are using). The
albredine ring resonates with a clear bell-like tone as its color
fades away completely." This clears the ring of
it's previous attunement (makes it colorless). Lets
refer to this ring as the "secondary" ring.
The "primary" ring will be the ring which you want
to tune the secondary ring to. |
|

|
Put
your blade away. Put your primary ring, in this case it will
be a gleaming albredine ring because TDRoP operates on the
gleaming channel, in your
right
hand and the secondary ring, the colorless albredine ring, in your
left. |
|

|
Now
just type, tap
ring.
You will get the message "You tap the two albredine
rings together. The surface of the a colorless albredine
ring seems to melt and boil for a moment before it hardens again,
having changed to a milky white appearance identical to the other
ring." This will attune the secondary ring to the
primary ring. |
| |
Note:
You will now be holding two rings that look exactly alike.
Be sure that person receiving the secondary ring gets the
secondary ring and not the primary. Otherwise they won't be
able to wear or use it. Rings that have been tuned AND worn
will only work for the first person who wears them. But, if
you do mess up you can always start over with step number 1. |
Using
a ring is very simple. Follow the steps below:
-
type tap albredine ring.
You will get a message saying, You tap your albredine ring, preparing it to send your thoughts out only to those wearing a ring attuned to yours.
-
Then, think
your message like you would on a regular gweth.
-
One tap, one thought. After you tap and think your message you will then
default back to normal gweth thinking mode. Meaning, you don't have to do
anything special to get back to using gweths instead of the ring, it
automatically goes back to that.
